Study on Adsorption Performance of Surface Modified Multi-walled Carbon Nanotubes for Cu~(2+)

Multi-walled carbon nanotubes were processed by mixed acid to prepare adsorbent that was used to adsorb trace Cu2+in artificial wastewater.In the solution of neutral pH environment,effects of initial concentration of Cu2+,adsorption time and absorbent dosage on adsorption of Cu2+ were investigated.The results show that the modification of multi-walled carbon nanotubes by using mixed acid can increase surface-OH,and under the conditions of 30 ℃ and pH = 6,adsorption capacity of the adsorbent increases with the increase of initial Cu2+concentration or adsorption time,and the adsorption rate increases with the increase of adsorbent dosage.In addition,the increase of adsorption capacity of the carbon nanotubes pretreated by mixed acid is more obvious than that of initial carbon nanotubes.
