Application of laser radar in monitoring meteorological and atmospheric environment

The structure,classifications and principles of different laser radars were introduced.The latest development and application of laser radar were reviewed.According to the difference of detecting substance,applications of laser radar in sounding aerosol,cloud,boundary layer,temperature,visibility,wind,atmospheric compositions,water vapor and sodium layer were analyzed.The latest development and application of spaceborne laser radar at home and abroad were summarized.Furthermore,the existing problems and perspectives of laser radar were discussed.Laser radar will become multi-wavelength,multi-detection function,commercialization,regionalization and globalization,and it plays an important role in monitoring meteorological and atmospheric environment.
