Treat Non-small Cell Lung Cancer with Shenyi Capsule plus Chemotherapy:A Systematic Review

Objective:To evaluate the efficacy and safety of shenyi capsule plus chemotherapy treated NSCLC.Methods:We searched the CNKI,PubMed,VIP,and Cochrane Library up to the year of 2008.Manual search and additional search were also conducted.Randomized controlled trials of shenyi capsule plus chemotherapy treated NSCLC were included.Three reviewers independently extracted data from eligible studies and evaluated the quality of included studies.Meta-analysis was performed for the results of homogeneous studies by the Cochrane Collaboration′s software RevMan 5.0.17.Results:7 researches were included in the system review.Total 535 patients were involved.Meta-analyses showed that shenyi capsule plus chemotherapy compared with chemotherapy is more effective in response rate(PetoOdds Ratio=2.25 95%CI=1.68~3.76),KPS scale improved rate(PetoOdds Ratio=3.57,95%CI=2.19~5.83),and median survival time(MD=2.98 95%CI1.02~4.94).The adverse reaction of chemotherapy was similar between two groups.Conclusion:Shenyi capsule plus chemotherapy has beneficial effects in treatment of NSCLC.Due to the poor quality and small sample of the included trials,more large-scale multi-center randomized trials are needed.
