A Study on the Preparation of Organic Chromium Additive

A new kind of additive of chromium yeast with high contents of organic chromium was prepared by the biosynthesis method. The contents of the total chromium and organic chromium in the chromium yeast were determined by spectrophotometry and dialyzing treatment. Therefore, the optimum conditions for the preparation of chromium yeast could be stated as : using malt juice plus urea as the culture medium, 1.6 μg/ml CrCl 3·6H 2O added to the culture medium, inoculating 3% beer yeast, culture temperature of 30 ℃ and culture period of 48 hours.
