Progress in Application of FEA to Tire Research

Wang Dengxiang and Tim Fry[Shanghai T.R.T.R.(N.A.)Inc.,Akron,USA]  
A constant solution of MooneyRivlin equation at low strain was obtained and the dimensions of inflated tire was successfuly predicted from the experimental tire design with nonlinear FEA;the groove wall closing was predicted,the weakness of the design was found and then the structure design was optimised based on the analysis of the chromatography for tire stress profile at load.
