The accuracy of a finite element model is important in structural dynamic predictions. The welldeveloped model updating technique aims to improve the accuracy of the prediction and is beginning to be used in industry. But the model updating technique does not work well in cases with non-linearity or model uncertainties. The model validation proposed in the end of the 20th century is to see how accurately the computational models can represent the real world in a realistic way. In this paper, the model validation and its relevant issues are discussed with respect to the model updating technique.
