Forest Growth and Litter Production Effects of Age-Classes and Mixed-Species of Cunninghamia lanceolata Plantations in Southeastern Guizhou Province of China

In order to explore change laws of biomass annual growth and dynamics of pure forest at different age classes and mixed-species forest at middle age class of Cunninghamia lanceolata plantations in southeast Guizhou province,China,the eight fixed sample plots(20m × 20m)were locating observed lasted near 3years with the method of space instead of time.Results showed that with Chinese fir pure forest age increasing,average values of diameter at breast height(DBH)and height were increased,and values of crown density and tree density were decreased,annual growth of DBH and height were reduced,biomass of standing crop of trunk,branches and leaves and whole plants of tree layer were increased,and the corresponding values of annual growth were decreased,litter production were increased.Stand growth and biomass and litter production of mixed-species forest were influenced by mixed-specie biological characteristics and number of proportion of Chinese fir,values difference of some indicators of plantation structure and biomass were significant.Biomass return rate and litter update rate were increasing with Chinese fir pure forest age adding,mixed species and number ratio of Chinese fir changed the corresponding values of the mixed forest.The results of the study provide a scientific basis for plantation and forest carbon sequestration management of Chinese fir.
