Study on the Phenotype Diversity of Woody Energy Plant Xanthoceras sorbifolia

15 phenotypic traits were investigated for 14 populations of Xanthoceras sorbifolia Bunge.Phenotypic variation,which were among populations and within populations,were studied by using nested variance analysis and variation coefficient.The correlation analysis and cluster analysis showed the relation among traits and geographical factors.The variation within populations was much greater than that among populations.The seed number in fruit was decreased with the longitude increase.The fruit width was improved with latitude increasing and the annual mean temperature decreasing.There was no significant relationship between geographic distances and euclidean distance.
