Objective To study the relations between left ventricular band and cardiac murmur or premature ventricular contraction and echocardiographic features.Method Two-dimensional echocardiographic studies on hearts of 251 healthy subjects were performed.Result 108 left ventrcular bands were seen in 100(40%) subjects with ventricular band. In 40 cases with cardiact murmur, 30 had left ventricular bands. There are left ventricular bands in 28 hearts of 38 cases with premature ventricular contraction. In 2-DE, left ventricular bands lie in the out-flow tract of the left ventricalar cavity and appear as line echos, relating or retrenshing with contraction and diastolization of the interventricular septum to the posterior pappillary muscle or to free wall of the left ventricle. Conclusion There were close relations between left ventricular band and cardiac murmur or premature ventricular contraction.
