Clinical analysis of 152 patients with staphylococcal scalded skin syndrome

Objective:To describe the clinical features of staphylococcal scalded skin syndrome(SSSS).Methods:The clinical data from 152 children with SSSS were analyzed retrospectively.Results:Most of the patients showed tender erythema,flaccid bullae and exfoliation.Periorbital erythema was found to be the first manifestation in 102 children with SSSS.Perioral erythema and perioral radial crusting and fissuring as the first symptoms was observed in 135 children with SSSS.In addition,3 children with SSSS exhibited generalized bullae and diffuse erythema.Conclusion:Periorbital erythema,perioral erythema accompanied by perioral radial fissuring and skin tenderness were suggestive of the diagnosis of SSSS.
