Field test of two methods for alleviating bridge-head jumping at deep soft foundation

To alleviate the problem of vehicles jumping at bridge approaches,vacuum-surcharge preloading and low strength concrete pile(LSCP) composite foundation are used to improve deep soft soil under the highway in Taizhou,Zhejiang Province.The field test results such as bearing capacity,settlement and deep settlement are presented.The performance and some economic index are compared and analyzed in detail.
