Effects of Pre-treatment on Cobalt Leaching Rate from Cu-Co-Fe Alloy Powder

Effect of roasting by adding CaCO3 during leaching Cu-Co-Fe alloy powder was investigated.Alloy powder,which added CaCO3 individually at the amount of 5% to 20%,was calcined at 900~1 300℃ for 10 h.Metal phase was separated from slag,broken,and then dissolved in sulfuric acid.Results show that cobalt leaching rates increased when more CaCO3 was added at 900℃,1 000℃,1 100℃;cobalt leaching rates reached peak value about 95% when alloy powder was roasted at 1 300℃ by adding 10% CaCO3,losses of cobalt during roasting were rapid increased when CaCO3 was more than 10%,leading to lower leaching rate of cobalt.
