Advances in the Analysis of Flavonoids compounds in Propolis

Flavonoids are the most important biological substances in propolis,which have many biological activities such as antioxidative and antibacterial activities. We present here an overview of current analytical methods for measuring flavonoids in propolis. The analytical procedure includes their extraction from the crude propolis,analytical separation,quantification and quality. The techniques include spectrophotometry,thin layer chromatography,gas chromatography,high pressure liquid chromatography,capillary electrophoresis and Hyphenated Chromatographic Techniques.
