The CAE Technology for the Plastic Profile Extrusion Tooling Die

The CAE technology for the plastic profile extrusion tooling die is used to predict the pressure drop and the average exit speed of the melt plastics flow in the die and to help the designers evaluate and optimize the design of the die. The current flow simulation generally uses either the 3D finite element method with complicate calculations or the analytical approach based on simple flow cross sections (such as round, rectangular and ring sections). A numerical simulation method for the melt plastics flow in the profile extrusion tooling die based on the cross_section method and the flow path method was introduced. It can be used for any complex flow sections and needs much less calculations than the 3D finite element method.
