Analysis on Dynamic Strain in Rock Blasting with Cylindrical Charge

In the paper, experiments in testing blast strain waves, generated from the explosion of some small cylindrical charge, were carried out in rock model using the ultra-dynamic strain testing system. The blast axial and tangential strain wave signals that had been tested in middle cavity of structure under the condition of decoupling charge were analyzed. The results show that two different strain waves were sequentially recorded in rock model, the first strain wave with larger strain rate is the features of compressive stress wave, the strain rate of axial strain wave is higher than the strain rate of tangential strain wave. The results provided a new experimental reference for mechanism of rock blasting.
