Membrane electrolysis recycling of absorption solution for flue gas desulfurization with sodium alkali

Double cation-exchange membranes were applied to electrolysis recycling of absorption solution for flue gas desulfurization with sodium alkali,and the electrolysis recycling principle and operating effects under different conditions were studied.It shows that the process of the sodium alkali FGD with double cation-exchange membranes is available and cost-effective.As a result of the electrolytic recycling process, the value of pH in the cathodic cell gradually increases,indicating the recovery of absorption solution absorbing sulfur dioxide.Here,the value of pH in the middle cell decreases indicating that sodium bisulfite is separated from the electrolyte,and when pH approaching 2,the treated electrolyte can be used for desorbing sulfuric dioxide.Current efficiency and electrolytic electricity efficiency are greatly affected by current density.The current efficiency ascends and the electricity consumption of electrolysis descends with the rise of the current densities.It is concluded that low current density and voltage are inclined to the low electricity consumption and high electrolytic electricity efficiency.
