Study on Wheat Population Characters under Raised Bed Planting

A field experiment was conduct to investigate the population characters of winter wheat(Triticum aestivum L.) grown under different planting conditions and to explore the productive potential of four wheat varieties Jimai20,Yannong19,Jimai19 and Taishan23,planted widely in Shandong province,were planted to study population quality of wheat under raised bed planting(RBP) and conventional flat planting(CFP) conditions.The results showed that RBP inhibited the occurrence of invalid tillers,nurture vigorous tiller,increased tiller into spike rate.Wheat canopy of RBP planting was as wave-like compared with the traditional level-like,which could significantly improve the light conditions of the lower leaves and four leafs to yield a higher level of leaf area index could be achieved by RBP cultivation,a significant increase in shoot dry matter accumulation were then obtained.Wheat varieties with compact plant type are more suitable for planting ridge cultivation.Two years tests found that RBP was a good way to nurture healthy wheat population,fulfill the potential of varieties and improve wheat production.
