Design on Mine Vital Signs Monitoring and Measuring System Based on Optical Fiber Sensor

In order to on-time monitor and measure the health conditions of the personnel during the working and disaster period in the underground mine,a monitoring and measuring system to measure the vital signs comprehensive parameters of the personnel working in the underground mine was provided based on a new optical fiber grating sensors.The paper had a study on the measuring method of the body surface temperature,heart rate and respiratory rate with the optical fiber grating sensors.The results showed that the deviation sensitivity of the optical fiber grating wavelength caused by the temperature variation was 7.5 pm/℃.The deviation of the optical fiber grating central wavelength caused by one hart pulse was over 122 pm and the deviation of the optical fiber grating central wavelength caused by a respiratory was over 1 220 pm.Thus the optical fiber grating sensor system is intrinsic safe,anti-electromagnetic interference,corrosion resistance,dust proof and light weight and is suitable for mine application.
