THERMOGRAVIMETRIC STUDY ON THE REDUCTIVE DECOMPOSITION OF CALCIUM SULFATE WITH PURE H_2 AT HIGH TEMPERATURE

The reductive decomposition of calcium Sulfate utilizing pure hydrogen was investigated using a high pressure thermogravimetric analyzer(TG—151).The X ray diffraction technique(XRD) was used to identify the chemical species of the reduced products.The results showed that the process of decomposition of CaSO 4 was dramatically affected by temperature and pressure.The main product of the reaction was CaS.The solid solid reaction between CaSO 4 and CaS was occurred at high temperature to form CaO.
