SELECTIVE CATALYTIC REDUCTION OF NO_x OVER ACTIVATED CARBON AT LOW TEMPERATURE WITH NH_3

The mechanism of the low temperature selective catalytic reduction of NO_x over activated carbon was studied with transient response.The factors effecting on the NO_x conversion efficiency such as airspeed,the original NO_x concentration,temperature and oxygen concentration were studied.Experiment indicated that the SCR mechanism was Eley-Rideal,and adsorption process is controlling step.The NO_x conversion efficiency increases with the increaseing of airspeed and temperature at the experimental condition, while decreases with the original NO concentration and oxygen concentration increasing, but the rate of NO_x conversion efficiency was slow when the original NO concentration was more than 900×10~ -6 and the oxygen concentration was more than 2.5%.
