A Living Fossil of Ancient Chinese Environmental Culture: Mianyang Mountaineer Minorities-their Beliefs and Customs in Valuing Nature

The paper will show the traditional customs of several minority groups in dealing with the relationship between man and nature in ancient China. It will examine the beliefs of Mianyang mountaineer minorities, Qiang, Tibet and Baima in valuing nature, their customs and habits in protecting the natural environment and their significance towards keeping a balanced ecosystem. Attention will also be given to protecting cultural ecological resources in the mountains of Mianyang.
