SHI Hong-yan~1,LIU Hao~1,TANG Zhong-hai~1,HUANG Jun-zhong~2(1.Institute of Zoology,Mianyang Normal University,Mianyang Sichuan 621000);(2.Sichuan Wanglang National Natural Reserve,Mianyang,Sichuan 622550)
An investigation of mouse-eared bats (Myotis) has been conducted in Mianyang,Sichuan province of China from 1999 to 2006.A total of 6 species have been found. One species,Rickett's big footed bat(Myotis ricketti),is endemic to China, and has been listed in China Species Red List as a Vulnerable species(VU).Two species,Southwestern Mouse-eared Bat(Myotis altarium)and Whiskered bat(Myotis mystacinus) have been listed as near threatened(NT)species.Still another species,Myotis kukunoriensis, which is endemic to Qinghai of China,is newly recorded to Sichuan. The ecological habits and characteristics of these bats have been described. Some problems in naming, assorting as well as the status quo of some species of these bats and their protection have been discussed.
