Dynamic properties and failure types of foamed concrete

The dynamic properties and failure types of foamed concrete with different strain rate have been investigated using Split Hopkins Pressure Bar(SHPB). The test results show that:(1) The dynamic compressive strength of foamed concrete is strain rate-dependent.(2) The failure type of foamed concrete is characterized as layer by layer collapse which results a stress-platform in the stress-strain curves. The influence of stress nonuniformity on dynamic mechanical behaviors of foamed concrete is also discussed.
