The Eigenfunction Method of One-dimensional Saint-venant Equations

Under natural condition,the unsteady flow may exist in river.Based on the Saint-venant equations,a one-dimensional mathematical model can be used to simulate the unsteady flow.This paper presents the eigenfunction of the one-dimensional unsteady flow model and explains the method to solve the model.Moreover,the detailed discussions are also provided for the key issues of resolving processes.Subsequently,a case study,using the eigenfunction to calculate the floods of Jin River in 1982 and 1985,a tributary of Gan River shows the validity of the method.
