Study on the Preparation of Starch Sulfate

Under the microwave conditions,the corn starch was used as raw material and the mixture of NaHSO3 and NaNO2 as esterification agent,the starch sulphate was prepared.The effects of some important factors,such as the ratios between NaHSO3 and NaNO2,the preparation time and temperature of esterification agent,starch concentration,reaction pH,microwave power,time and temperature,on yield of degree of substitution of starch sulfate were investigated.The optimum preparation conditions as follows:nNaHSO3/nNaNO2=4.25,the time of preparing esterifying agent for 90 minutes and the temperature was 90 ℃,the starch concentration was 30%,pH 8.0,microwave time was 70 minutes,microwave power was 700 W and microwave temperature was 45 ℃.The degree of substitution of products come up to 0.5~0.76.The process was environmental and economic.
