Turbulence based Dual-NTF Method applied to power curve measurement with nacelle anemometer

The power curve measurement with nacelle anemometer has significant error, and it also brings the uncertainty in Wind Power Prediction(WPP). Based on field experiment in a wind farm,this literature investigated the nacelle wind speed-free flow wind speed relationship,studied atmospheric turbulence intensity's effect on the Nacelle Transfer Function(NTF), and then propoed a turbulence based dual-NTF method, which can be applied to power curve measurement with nacelle anemometer. For various annual mean wind speed conditions, the error ranges of calculated energy production based on no-corrected, the International Electrotechnical Commission(IEC) single-NTF method corrected and this paper's dual-NTF method corrected nacelle wind speed power curves were-8.8% ~ 0.5%,-2.4% ~-0.2% and-0.2% ~ 0.2%. The results indicated the turbulence based dual-NTF method proposed in this paper is feasible, and its application effect is superior to the IEC single-NTF method.
