Physiological Response of Several Greening Tree Species Seedlings to Gradual Soil Drought

Using two-year-old seedlings of Berbersis thumbergic DC.cv.Atropurpurea,Caryopteris clandonensis cv.Worcester Gold,and Ligustrum lucidm var.Avreum as the materials,this paper studied the effect of gradual soil drought on activity of antioxidant enzymes of the seedlings.The result showed that with the increasing of soil drought stress,the leaf chlorophyll content was reduced,while the membrance permeability and SOD,POD activity and free proline content were increased.The result indicated that the rank of drought resistance of seedling was Caryopteris clandonensis cv.Worcester GoldLigustrum lucidm var.AvreumBerberis thunbergii DC.cv.Atropurpurea.
