Correlations between diabetic and complications and degrees of mastering diabetic tenowledge

Objective To study the correlations between diabetic education and complications.Methods A survey was done in236type II diabetics by questionnaire about diabetic education and their complications.They were grouped based on their understanding about diabetes.Their control conditions of blood glucose and detectable rates of complications were compared and analyzed.Res ults In the group with good mastery of diabetic knowledge,the patients were older in average age,received higher education,had long disease course,well controlled at blood glucose and had fewer complications.The difference was significant compared with those with poor knowledge(P0.05).Conclus ion Diabetic education improves their awareness of diabetes and adaptation at treatment and thus reduces the occurrences of complications.
