Influence of community comprehensive nursing intervention on compliance of rural senile patients with diabetes

Objective To explore influence of community comprehensive nursing intervention on compliance of rural senile patients with diabetes. Methods Community comprehensive nursing intervention included:establishing health archives for patients with diabetes,informing patients to have free checkup regularly; home visiting for patients who were unable to have checkup regularly; performing health education; investigation with questionnaire and psychological consultation.The effects before and after intervention were compared. Results There were significant differences in patients' compliance with taking medicine,regular checkup,reasonable diet,adequate physical exercise,grasping rate of knowledge about health and the rate of healthy behavior and blood sugar between before and after intervention(tested by x2 and U,P0.01). Conclusion Community comprehensive nursing intervention can improve the compliance of patients with diabetes,help them to understand the method of measuring and controlling blood sugar,maintain the stability of blood sugar,help patients with type 2 diabetes to have reasonable diet,physical exercise as well as healthy behavior and improve rate of knowledge about health and the rate of healthy behavior.
