Removal of Nitrogen and Phosphorus i n Fishpond Water /Sewage by Natural Z eolite

An experiment of removal of nitrogen and phosphorus in fishpond water /sewage by natural zeolite was conducted,and the changes of purifying water used for r aising goldfish with tea -bag pouched zeolite with time were also dealt wi th.It was shown that zeolite possessed effect of lowerin g total nitrogen,ammonia nitrogen,total phosphorus and inorganic phosphorus,and the more amount of zeolite added,the more red uction of nitrogen and phosphorus co ntents in water samples.However,fo r sewage with higher nitrogen and phosphorus,the removal effect became less.It was also show n that ground zeolite had a better eff ect in removing nitrogen and phosphorus within 10days,and th e effect would be less after 10days;c ompared with small blocky zeolite,g round zeolite be-haved better in removing nitrogen an d phosphorus in water used for raisin g goldfish,but a longer effect was fo und with small blocky zeolite,suggesting that a further s tudy was needed.
