Behavior and Fate of Cadmium in Natural and CdCl_2-Spiked Soils in Southeastern Suburb of Beijing

Behavior and fate of cadmiumand its dynamic trend in uncontaminated cul tivation soil and CdCl 2 -spiked contamination soils were obtained by sequential ex traction procedure.The results showed that active Cd added to soil incli nes to be changed into more stable speciation.But the bioa vailable Cd in soil indicated that as water -extracted and exchangeable f ractions still occupies about thirty percentage of total Cd,and water -extracted Cd has a good relationship with total Cd.Therefore,the potential hazards to ecosystem will be serious if this s oil is Cd -contaminated.
