Comparative Studies on the Difference of the Uptake and Redstribution of Environmental Cd by Two Genic Rice

Wang Kairong et al.(Changsha Institnte of Agricultural-Modernization, CAS, Changsha 410125)  
comparative study was made on the characteristics of Cd uptake and redistribution in the different stages by two genic rice(i.e., hybrid rice "Weiyou 1126" and conventional rice "Zhefu 802")under water culture experiment. The results showed that hybrid rice had greater ability than conventional rice in Cd uptake and transportation to the straw and grain. The Cd uptake by all of the rice plants before ear initiation was less than 10% of the total Cd uptake by rice during the life time. More than 51% of the total Cd was uptaked by rice after heading stage.There was a significant active relationship between Cd content of brown rice and the ainount of Cd uptake by both rice plants. Considering the influence of Cd on the hygienic quality of brown rice The rice in its reproductive stage was sensitive to Cd pollution and hybrid rice was more sensitive to Cd than the conventional one.
