Reviews on the Formation Models of South China Sea

Deng Xiguang Wu Lushan Du Deli (Guangzhou Marine Geological Survey,Guangzhou,510760)  
South China Sea is the biggest marginal seas in western Pacific Ocean.Its formation is connected with Euro-Asia plate,Pacific plate and India-Australia plate,and it is an important area of producing oil and gas in the world,hence,South China Sea has become one of focus areas of geological study to geologists in home and abroad.In the paper,the aim is to review and summarize the formation models of South China Sea,and discusses the possible problems of the formation models and the study emphasis on future.
