BORON NUTRITION OF RAPE 7501-1 AND ITSNPK ABSORPTION CHARACTERISTICS

A field experiment was conducted in Liyang and Jiangpu Counties, Jiangsu Province to study B nutrition of the low erucidie rape (7501-1) and its NPK absorption characteristies. The result indicated that borax application on soils with available B 0.25ppm and 0.38ppm would increase rape seed yields by 27.9%~37.6% and 4.0%~8.3%, which reached the 0.01 and 0.05 significant levels, respectively. The oil contents increased by 1.4%~2.1% and 0.8%~2.2%, respectively. More than 70% of the B absorption by the plant was from the buding stage to mature stage, 57%~68% of which was absorbed during flowering to mature stage. It is considered that the B concentrations in the leaves ranged between 10~15 ppm are the indices of potential B deficiency. Most of the NPK were absorbed from the bud stage to mature stage. The highest absorption intensity of NK was from buding to flowering stage, and that of P, from flowering to mature stage. The NPK absorption ratio would be 1:0.24~0.31: 0.54~0.60 for the rape seed yield at the level of 100~150 kg per mu.
