A STUDY OF MEIYU FRONT STORM WITH DOPPLER RADAR OBSERVATIONS: STRUCTURE AND FEATURES OF A MESOSCALE CONVECTIVE ECHO SYSTEM

The Meiyu frontal storm occurred on July 9, 1991 in the Jianghuai region has been analyzed in detail. The structure and features of the mesoscale convective echo system of the Meiyu front and the associated mesoscale weather systems have been studied. The concept of the mesoscale echo enhancing region in the convective storm region under the condition of weak low level convergence within the Meiyu front has been suggested. The results are compared with those from TAMEX in Taiwan.
