Wu Zao's Ci:its Characters and her Position in Female Ci History

XUE Haiyan (Chinese Language Culture College,Ocean University of Qingdao,Qingdao,266071)  
As a female writer in the Qing Dynasty,Wu Zao often expressed her high esteem of freedom in her works.Far sighted,she abandoned the superficial male equivalence appeals,and revealed the severe reality that individuality had been suppressed by the traditional forces.Furthermore,her significant argument that the liberation of individuality was a common social demand really showed the potential current of her times.With a heroic,solemn and stirring style,she owned an outstanding position among female writers of ci.
