Application of Wireless Sensor Networks in Facility Agriculture

In order to realize the real - time monitoring of plant - soil - environment system in facility agriculture,some experiments were carried on the Hangzhou Gamza grape cultivation base,which was the first batch of information - based experimental zones. Wireless sensor networks and intelligent management and control systems were developed and applied to realize the real - time detection and display of the soil water content,nutritional parameters,temperature,humidity and illumination information. The developed systems also could automatically control the irrigation systems according to the growing demand of grape with a good quality and high yield,and an good performance was achieved by the developed systems.
