EFFECT OF MATURITY DEGREE ON SEED QUALITY OF Agropyron desrtorum CV. NORDAN

The relationship between seed quality and maturity degree were analyzed in the aspects of seed germinability, moisture dynamic and hundred seed weight. Results showed that the seed viability and hundred seed weight increased, and the seed moisture decreased along with the increase of seed maturity degree. After the accelerated ageing treatment, the germination rates of the seed harvested during 15d~30d after peak anthesis were decreased obviously, and that of seeds harvested during 35d~40d after peak anthesis did not change clearly, which indicated that the seed quality was increased along with the maturity degree. The optimum harvest time was when the seed moisture was about 20%~25%.
