APPLICATION OF THERMAL DISSIPATION PROBE METHOD IN THE SYUDY OF WATER CONSUMPTION FOR TRANSPIRATION OF TREE SPECIES

The principle of the Thermal Dissipation Probe(TDP) method,which was used to measure sap flow of the trees,was introduced in this paper.The sap flow and water consumption for transpiration of the whole-tree,measured by the TDP method,were reviewed.Also,the factors which affect tree transpiration and the estimation of the water consumption of forest stand were overviewed.Finally,the paper described the problems and the prospects of the TDP method in the study of sap flow.
