The basic charactristics of the fllora of the typical desert region in the north of the Wolf Mountain, Inner Mongolia

Yong Shi-peng;Zhao Yi-zhi Department of biology
Basing on the specimens of plants collected by the authors in the typical desert region, the north of the Wolf Mountain, Bayannolmeng, Inner Mengolia, they have made a preliminary analysis of the basic characteristics of the flora. The article is divided into four sections: (1)The general conditions of ecological environment plant; (2)Properties of ecological plant biology; (3)The preliminary analysis of the charac- teristics of the flora; (4)The economical value of plant resources. The flora of the typical desert region in the morth of the Wolf Mountain shows a series of characteristics of the flora in Alaschan desert of Central Asia: (1)The species of plants are very poor, the flora of carpophytes has only 27 families, 80 genus, 115 species and 5 varietes; (2)The family dominance are outstanding, in which the caltrop (Zygophyllaceae) and Goosefoot (Chenopodiaceae) families are playing a very impor- tant part in the typical desert region; (3)60 per cent of the families are the family of one genns, which are the genns of one species, only a few of them are genus of two species, 90 per cent of the genus are the genus of one species, a few of them are the genus of two species; And the genus of autogenus and genus of few species taket he upper hand. (4)The ultra-xeric shrub and subshrub are the ecotypes and life-forms of the most basix flora in the desert region; They form deificato andsocialies. The summer-rain intermediate-xeric and mesic herbs of theorphyte and biennial are one of important synusia which has distinct geographical features in the desert region; (5)The origin of the typical desert region is very ancient, the relation with neighbouring region is very close the geopraphical components of the most major flora are the species of the Gobi, the Gobi-mongolian, the Ancient-Mediterraneansea and Central Asia.
