The southern sector of the Great Kingan Mountains lie on the east edge of Mongolia Plateau steppe region. The 1031 species of vascular plants, beloning to 104 families and 431 genera, have been recorded now . Based on the statistics and analysis at generic and specific levels, and the comparison with the relationship of the surrounding floras ,the results show that the geographic elements of the flora are complex and diverse, but the numbers of temperate elements is the most ;the East-Asia elements play a leading role in the zonal forest vegetation ; the steppe elements infiltrate strongly to the flora;the flora is a young flora where there are not endemic and old plants, the flora is a transitional flora which are connected with the other surrounding folristic regions ,particularly with the East-Asia flora ,and is an important pivot and passageway to connect surrounding floras.
