Study on the photocatalysis efficiency of degradation of p-nitraphenol by a praseodymium-doped nanometer TiO_2

Nanometer iron doped TiO_2 powder was obtained from tetrabutyl titanate by Sol-gel method.The phase and size were analyzed by XRD.After calcination at 500℃ for 2h,0.5%(in mole per cent)Pr~(3+)-TiO_2 powders show that the nanocrystalline TiO_2 with anatase phase.The photocatalytic oxidation properties were examined by the degradation of p-nitraphenol.The results indicate that the photocatalytic activity of the composite particles is higher than that of pure ultrafine TiO_2,and the optimum loading of Pr is 0.5%(in mole per cent).Under illumination by high pressure mercury lamp,the results show that when initial concentration of p-nitraphenol solution is 50 mg·L~(-1),a mount of catalyst is 1.0 g·L~(-1),the photocatalytic activity reach the maximum.
