Research on Zeolite Modification and Its Decolorization in Trash Leachate

Zeolite was modified using CTAB or Chitosan as modifier, and its decolorization performance toward trash leachate was studied. The results show that, after modification, decolorization capacity of the zeolite is significantly improved. The modified effect with CTAB as modifier is better than with Chitosan as modifier. The decolorization rate of trash leachate was up to 74.3% and 90.0% respectively using the Chitosan concentration of 10% and CTAB to modify the zeolite, under the condition of the pH from 7 to 8 and the zeolite dosage of 4.0 g/100mL.
