Investigation on Simultaneously Catalytic Removal of Diesel Particulate Matter and NO_x(2)

The simultaneous removal of NOxTB and particulate matter (PM) exhausted from diesel engine was studied by the Temperature Programmed Reaction (TPR) technique with γAl2O3 spherules and a diesel particulate filter (DPF), on which mixed metal oxide catalysts, Cu0.95K0.05Fe2O4 and La0.9K0.1CoO3 were loaded. The results have demonstrated that La0.9K0.1CoO3 catalyst has higher catalytic activity for simultaneous removal of PM-NOx than Cu0.95K0.05Fe2O4 catalyst. Compared to the case that PM is collected at high load of diesel engine, the conversion efficiency of NOx is higher under the condition of PM collected at low load and the combustion temperature of PM is lower with high SOF content. By the coexistence of NO and O2, the oxidation of PM is enhanced. And the catalytic activity with "loose contact" condition between catalyst and PM is much lower than the "tight contact" condition.
