Sedimentary Dynamic Approach to Predict Sedimentation in Channels at Mud Coast Example of Experimental Channels in Hangzhou Bay

In the area of mud estuary and coast,erosion and deposition alternates inside and outside the channels after harbors and channels were digged In channels,because of the attenuation of current, deposition increases and erosion decreases, and a net deposition (sedimentation) takes place with the increase of channel depth To predict the sedimentation in channels by sedimentary dynamic approach ,the semi empirical forecasting formula are established based on analysis of mechanism of erosion and deposition and its reasonable generalization. This kind of formula takes the intensity of water dynamic,i.e., the shearing force( τ )caused by wave and current,as a criterion to judge the occurrence conditions and scales of erosion and deposition Moreover,the distribution of sand content at construction area should be studied and formulated.The plane and vertical distributions of sediment and its dynamical quota,sedimentary shearing velocity,sedimentary shearing force,erosive shearing force,solidification,rheological property, etc., should be measured by experiments In this paper,experimental channels in Hangzhou Bay are taken as an example, Based on measured sedimentary dynamical parameters, the predicted sedimentation is in consistent with measured, and so the importance and necessity to study sedimentary dynamics to the forecast of the sedimentation in channels is proved
