Experiment Study on the Pyrolysis of Agricultural Biomass

The effect of temperature, material retention time (RT) and heating rate on the yield of pyrolysis products is studied based on the following agricultural biomass materials- corn stalk,cotton stalk, wheat straw and rice straw. The experiment results showed that the pyrolysis temperature in 500-600℃ and RT in the range of 6-8 minutes are appropriate, the wt.% of pyrolysis products such as combustible gas, charcoal and wood tar 40. 2%, 34. 7% and 25. 1% respectively. The heat value of gas and charcoal is 12. 88 MJ/m3 and 25 MJ/kg respectively, organic constituents in the condensate include CH3 COOH, CH3 OH, methyl-benzene, phenol,ortho-xylene phenol and fur-fural-dehyde.
