Numerical simulation of soil water movement under infiltration irrigation

In order to find out an accurate and practical soil water movement simulation method for infiltration irrigation management,in this paper,investigations of field subirrigation using a rubber-based porous pipe were carried out,and Green-Ampt Model and Philip Method for solving one-dimensional Richard Equation were used respectively to simulate the soil water movement in perpendicular and horizontal directions.By comparing the modeling with the on-the-spot survey results,the simulations were estimated.The research results indicate that Green-Ampt Model shows a high accuracy in perpendicular simulation,but in horizontal direction obvious differences between simulation results and field measurement values exist.
