Study on the Multistage Countercurrent Extracting Green Tea Polyphenols with Ethyl Acetate

In this paper, a technology of multistage countercurrent extracting tea polyphenols (TP) from green tea with ethyl acetate as extractant was theoretically analyzed. The effects of countercurrent extraction stages, ratio of phase and ratio of tea/water on TP extraction rate, purity and catechins content in TP were also investigated. The optimal operation parameters for the extraction of TP on industrial scale were provided in the end. 
