Research on a Temperature Autocontrol System of Motorcar Torque Converter Test bed (MTCT)

MTCT is a set of special equipment used in normal and dynamic performance test of torque converter and a necessary means for torque converter design, research and products quality examinations. In torque converter performance testing, especially in it's braking condition testing, the input power is mostly changed into heat energy, and results in the oil temperature rising rapidly. In order to ensure the oil temperature within the prescript range and a correct and reliable test result, a temperature autocontrol system was developed. The constitution of the oil pumping structure, the oil temperature regulation scheme, and the dynamic response of the system were discussed in this paper. The test results indicated that this system had the features of rapid response and high control precision, etc. The controlling error of temperature was limited within ±2℃. It provided a reliable assurance of improving the precision of torque converter test under static and dynamic performance.
