Study on Parameter Design of Power and Transmission System for Hybrid Electric Vehicle

Shu Hong Qin Datong Yang Wei (The State Key Laboratory of Mechanical Transmission, Chongqing University)  
Based on the control strategy of a parallel hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) and property of continuously variable transmission (CVT), the parameter design and match of engine power, AC induce motor properties, final ratio and ratio of torque summer were studied in this paper. The research aimed to reduce the motor power, battery pack capacity and fuel consumption as much as possible in order to meet the power characteristics of a HEV. The results show that the required motor peak power and the battery pack capacity can be reduced by increasing the extend constant power range coefficient of a motor, the final ratio and the ratio of torque summer. The influence of the extend constant power range coefficient on the motor power and torque was analyzed and a method to choose the coefficient was proposed in this paper.
